About Us

The sugaring operation was founded in the year 1950ish by John Thiede Sr., in the town of Stettin, located in Central Wisconsin. The operation was a big part of John's livelihood for a number of years before his passing in 1992. John's daughter and son-in-law, Harold and Merceda continued the operation afterwards, providing provisions for the family. The tradition became a popular family event every spring and Harold and Merceda left a lasting impression with the knowledge they passed along. As age became a factor, the operation was halted for several years. After Merceda's passing in 2016 and Harold passing in 2017, every spring is now greeted with very special memories of the two of them. With the help of Harold's daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Wanda, the operation is now set up to continue on the legacy. With some recent renovations to the "Syrup House", we are excited to be able to provide others with the taste of natures finest that our beloved Grandpa's and Grandma's have provided to us these many years.
